Hello, and welcome to the homepage for me, Ethan Cissell! I am currently a postdoctoral research associate at The University of North Carolina ( UNC ) at Chapel Hill. I am an ecologist and microbiologist interested in how spatiotemporal variation in species interactions drive the stability of complex microbial assemblages in the Anthropocene. I use a combination of observational, experimental, field, and molecular tools to complete my research. These approaches include next-generation sequencing and sophisticated approaches in molecular biology. Please explore my site to find out more! Reach out to me (see Contact page) to collaborate or to ask questions about virology, cyanobacteria, coral reefs, benthic cyanobacterial mats, or freshwater didymo blooms!
